ABOUT DANCING CEDARSWelcome,
In 1976 as a young woman I came to live on this land, now called Dancing Cedars. This undeveloped forested 10 acres was welcoming us to build a home and that is what my first husband and I did. Several years later our marriage ended and I stayed. In the mid 80' Joe came along. Our love grew and his love of the land grew and in the mid 90's we celebrated our wedding here on the south lawn with magical flute and violin music dancing on the late summer winds, a blues/rock dance band and so much fun, .a very special, memorable day... Family and friends have gathered here for literally decades in fun and celebration and it always seemed that the land should be shared with more folks. And so it is, Dancing Cedars has grown into a gathering place for our greater community. Thirty some years later, we continue to feel deeply blessed and grateful to be surrounded by such an abundance of natural beauty. We are the caretakers of this land and all it's structures ~ I say to you, this much work had better be a labor of love, and it is.. Joe the magical wizard/elf collector of 'stuff' has his corner of the land which to many may look like a junkyard. But to Joe it is his bone yard, his place to wander about and find the perfect ' thing' to make or repair whatever is needed or envisioned that is calling him. You can find him joyfully wandering about at night with a headlamp on examining flora and fauna discovering what is there to be discovered. We love welcoming people here, making folks feel comfortable and helping them have the best experience possible. We also like dreaming up creative projects, that's part of our play as is gardening, and just being on the land. We want very much for you to feel how much the land and we welcome you. It is our joy to serve our community in the best way we know how and offering this land and this venue IS the best way we know how. Businesses. planning groups, teachers, healers, non-profits, artistic/creative groups and others have found Dancing Cedars to be a perfect fit. A stunning natural environment with an attractive and practical rental space. Whatever you're up to while you're here, whether it be planning, gaining inspiration, sharing great ideas, practicing yoga breaths, creating ceremonies or celebrations, we hope you have a great experience.
